ASUS TUF Gaming VG27AQ5F 27" QHD Gaming Monitor - 2560 x 1440 200Hz Fast IPS G-SYNC Compatible - Black - VG27AQ5F

The ASUS TUF Gaming VG27AQ5F is a 27-inch QHD gaming monitor built on a Fast IPS panel, pairing a 2560 x 1440 resolution with a 200Hz refresh rate. NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible certification and AMD FreeSync Premium keep motion tear-free on either graphics platform, and ELMB SYNC allows blur reduction and variable refresh rate to operate together. It is the sensible middle ground between a fast 1080p esports panel and a premium high-refresh QHD display.

QHD Sharpness at High Refresh

At 27 inches, a 2560 x 1440 resolution works out to roughly 109 pixels per inch, which is widely regarded as the sweet spot: text and detail stay sharp with no Windows scaling needed, while the graphics load stays far below 4K at the same refresh rate. A 200Hz refresh rate is more than three times a standard 60Hz display, delivering genuinely fluid motion without demanding the graphics power that 300Hz-plus QHD panels need to be worth having.

Fast IPS Panel

Fast IPS is an IPS-derived technology engineered to speed up pixel transitions while retaining the wide 178-degree viewing angles and colour consistency that IPS is known for. That removes the old trade-off where competitive players chose TN for speed and accepted washed-out colour and narrow viewing angles. Colour stays consistent across the panel and off-centre, which matters for content work as well as gaming.

ELMB SYNC and Adaptive Sync

ELMB SYNC is the feature worth understanding. Motion blur reduction normally works by strobing the backlight, and on most monitors that cannot operate at the same time as variable refresh rate, forcing a choice between blur reduction and tear-free output. ASUS Extreme Low Motion Blur Sync runs both together, removing ghosting without sacrificing smoothness. It is one of the clearer reasons to choose a TUF Gaming panel over a similarly specified rival.

Gaming AI and DisplayWidget Center

DisplayWidget Center lets you change monitor settings with a mouse from the desktop rather than navigating a joystick menu behind the panel, which is a real quality-of-life improvement. TUF Gaming AI adds Dynamic Crosshair, which shifts the crosshair colour to contrast with whatever is behind it, and Dynamic Shadow Boost, which lifts detail out of dark areas automatically. GameVisual presets cover FPS, MOBA, RTS and racing, and GamePlus provides timers and alignment guides.
