The Group Stage PC — Just About Getting Through
This is your England 2026 group stage performance. Effective enough, a barnstorming 4-2 win over Croatia, then a frustrating 0-0 against Ghana. Gets the job done, but leaves you thinking "we should be doing more."
Entry-level builds can run EA Sports FC 26, but you're looking at 1080p Medium settings, frame drops during replays, and load times that test your patience. Fine for a kick-about in the garden. Not fine if you want to actually enjoy the beautiful game.
Round of 32 — Just Happy to Be Here
Ecuador knocked out Germany. Scotland scraped through on goal difference. Some teams in this knockout stage genuinely weren't supposed to be here, and neither are some PCs still running 2019 hardware.

If you're gaming at 1080p and getting under 60fps in FC 26, a GPU upgrade is almost certainly the answer. It's the biggest single-component performance jump you can make, the Messi of your PC's squad. Everything else supports it. But this is what puts the ball in the net.
