The new dualFET design allows for the card to run with more power, but also to run more efficiently than the old GTX 1080.

Nvidia have also updated the Founders Edition cooler too. The vapour chamber design now has twice the cooling area, which allows you to either run the card at the same temperature for a reduction in the dB levels, or conversely run it cooler with the same aural footprint as the GTX 1080’s reference cooler design.

While it is based on GP102 Pascal GPU, the same as the Nvidia Titan X graphics card, the Ti out-performs the standard 1080 Founders edition by approximately 35% and, despite the 1GB less total memory from the TITAN X, the Ti's extra speed and optimised memory bandwidth it will be superior to the Titan X at around half the price of the previous king of cards.
