The MOZA Racing R21 V2 is a flagship direct drive wheel base delivering 21Nm of peak torque, around 30 per cent more than comparable models. An industrial-grade servo motor with a carbon fibre slanted-pole rotor produces exceptionally smooth force feedback with virtually no cogging or torque ripple. Housed in aviation-grade aluminium alloy and tuned through the MOZA Pit House app, it is built for serious sim racers.

21Nm of Direct Drive Torque

Direct drive connects the steering wheel straight to the motor shaft with no belts or gears in between, so every detail of the force feedback reaches your hands unfiltered. With 21Nm of peak torque and 360W of peak power the R21 V2 can reproduce the full weight and violence of a modern racing car, from kerb strikes to the moment the rear steps out. That is roughly 30 per cent more torque than comparable bases, giving genuine headroom rather than a figure you can never safely use.

Precision Motor and Encoder

The motor uses a triple staggered slanted-pole rotor, a design borrowed from electric vehicles, which balances the assembly and removes the vibration and notchiness that afflict cheaper servo motors. V-shaped struts and fractional slot-concentrated windings maximise torque delivery while keeping the feel perfectly smooth through the full rotation. A 21-bit magnetic encoder divides each rotation into over two million discrete steps and is read by a 280MHz processor, so even the smallest steering correction is captured accurately.

NexGen Force Feedback and Pit House

MOZA's latest force feedback filtering algorithm renders understeer and oversteer with far greater clarity, making it easier to feel and catch a slide before it becomes a spin. Speed-sensitive damping increases resistance as the car goes faster and reduces it at low speed, mirroring how a real race car behaves and improving both high-speed stability and low-speed manoeuvrability. The MOZA Pit House control suite allows full customisation of rotation angle, force feedback strength, an FFB equaliser and per-game profiles.

Build Quality and Connectivity

The all-aluminium alloy housing gives the base a rock-solid feel and the mass it needs to stay planted under heavy loads, while superior thermal management prevents the overheating and force feedback fade that plague lesser units. Connections cover power, USB, pedals, dash, shifter, handbrake and an emergency stop, so a complete rig can be built around it. Bottom mounting is standard, with front and side mounting supported via optional brackets for formula-style seating positions.
