AMD announce new gaming graphics card – Radeon VII
AMD have announced their latest graphics card, the Radeon VII - the worlds first consumer 7nm GPU.
During their KeyNote at this years CES, AMD claim the new cards will drive exceptional performance and amazing experiences for the latest AAA, esports and VR titles, and meeting the extreme demands for content creators and next-generation computing.
The new Radeon VII offers the following performance improvements over AMD’s current top-of-the-range card the Radeon RX Vega 64:
29% better gaming performance.
36% better content creation performance.
“It provides seamless, high-refresh gaming at 1080p, ultrawide 1440p, and 4K.”
Hardware features of the card are:
7nm process technology
3,840 stream processors
16GB HBM2 memory
4,096-bit memory interface
AMD FreeSync support
The release date for the new cards has been set to 7th February 2019 and is set to retail at around £600. As a further incentive to buyers, the cards will include a free game offer of up to 3 titles: Devil May Cry 5, Resident Evil 2, and Tom Clancy's The Division 2.
