New product alert! We have recently added the AMD B550 chipset to our website, the release date for this is June 16th, but shipping will be varied due to the current situation we are all in with COVID-19.

Specifications:

  • 20x usable PCIe® 4.0 lanes with a 3rd Gen AMD Ryzen™ Processor
  • Up to 4x usable PCIe® 3.0 lanes
  • 8x usable PCIe® 2.0 lanes
  • Up to 2 native USB 3.2 Gen 2 Ports (Superspeed 10Gbps)
  • Up to 6 native USB 3.1 Ports
  • Up to 6 native USB 2.0 Ports
  • Up to 6 native USB 2.0 Ports
  • Overclocking Support

The B550 uses the Gen2 chipset link and will support up to Zen 3 so far, it seems unlikely that the product will support beyond that at the moment. B550 motherboards will support PCle Gen4 for up to two devices which will be extremely beneficial for avid gamers. The B450 boards didn’t support dual-GPU support, however, the B550 will.

Benefits of PCle 4.0

PCle 4.0 is the next evolution of a high-speed interface. Nothing is quite fast enough when it comes to technology, which is why the PCle 4.0 has been the point of conversation for many.

PCle 4.0 has not only increased speed for components, but also has better signal reliability and integrity for improved performance. If you are running your PC at home then it is important to know that PCle 4.0 has double the bandwidth of PCle 3.0.

AMD has created the B550 to be a cheaper alternative to the X570, like all new products we are going to see changes and updates on what the B550 will be able to do. Keep an eye on our social media and website to find out more on this fantastic new product!
