The Phanteks Eclipse P300 Midi-Tower on offer here is from the Phanteks Eclipse series and offers impressive aesthetics with its clean lines and premium, perhaps even somewhat reserved black design and a white interior. The one-piece front panel and the large tinted, tempered glass side window lends the case an exceptionally premium look, and this is enhanced yet further with the help of the LED lighting below the huge tempered glass window. The fins on the upper section of the front, which conveniently also serve as vents, offer a welcome contrast to the sleek uniformity of the front panel.

Towards the front of the top of the case is located the RGB-LED illuminated power button, while both audio jacks along with the front panel USB 3.0 ports are located on the sides and angled towards the right. The button for controlling the LEDs is also located on this part of the Eclipse P300. The majority of the top of the case is taken up with a large removable dust filter that has the appearance of a large mesh grille and also rests on a large ventilation grille.

After speccing out my first PC last month I probably took the longest amount of time agonising over the case. I had hoped to get something for less than £50 or at least three fans if I was going to spend more.

After much deliberation, I spent the extra £10 on this as well as £15 for three additional fans and I was not dissapointed. The features that appeal to me most were the PSU shroud and what appeared to be very good cable managment for such a budget case.

Building with an MSI ATX motherboard has was relatively easy, only the CPU power connextor is hard to access and there is plenty of space to hide additional cables. The rear cable mangement is fantastic. I had purchased additional cables ties but they were not required. The two included velcro tabs and included cables ties are more than adequate for the deep channel at the front of the case.

My only gripe is that I have struggled to connect the case lights to my motherboard, even with adapters the colours just do not match MSI Mystic light. Instead I have discnnected them and rely on the case button to cycle through the basic colours.

I would recommend this case to anyone after good cable management, a clean finish and an excellent price point.
