Polartherm X-8 is a high-performance thermal paste supplied in a generous 40g quantity, designed to improve heat transfer between a processor and its cooler. Why Thermal Paste Matters

Even precisely machined surfaces are microscopically uneven, leaving tiny air gaps between the processor's heat spreader and the cooler base, and air is a very poor conductor of heat. Thermal paste fills those gaps so heat transfers efficiently into the cooler instead of being trapped at the interface. Dried out or poorly applied paste is one of the most common causes of unexpectedly high temperatures and thermal throttling in older systems.
