TN Panels

TN panel offers the fastest response times possible, whilst this is a great thing, there are a few downsides to going for a TN panel and that's the colour accuracy. We would only reccomend going for a TN panel if you absolutely have to have the fastest response times as possible.

VA Panels

IPS Panels

IPS panel offers the best colour accuracy with an increase in response times. Although this may not be ideal for a competitve gamer who required the absolute fastest pefromance possible, the higher response times are usually not as noticable to the average gamer and you'll most likely have a much better experience thanks to rich colours and good response times. Expecially when you're looking at a higher refresh rate monitor as thhe response times get reduced due to the higher amount of frames being pushed. Those are both very good questions and the answer is fairly simple. It depends on what you want from it. If you want quality of picture then you should be looking at HD, LED, DVI and HDMI monitors. Size has the biggest impact on price over quality of picture. For the cheaper end then you can opt for VGA monitors. If you want it for gaming purposes then the best PC monitors are those that widescreen, HD, LED monitors. If you want a fully submersing experience then it makes sense to go big.

The main thing you need to make sure on is what ports your computer monitor needs to have to link seamlessly with your computer, especially if you want to run more than one screen. Do you have multiple HDMI ports, one VGA and one DVI, two VGA, two DVI or any other number of arrangements. Your choice in monitor should be led by what you need to make your computer talk to it – so check before ordering!
